I have to say that I’m really enjoying Persona 4 on the PS2 and it just made me think about how stable and sturdy this console is, so I wrote a review in lieu of it.

The playstation 2 marks nine years of its lifetime in the gaming industry. I have obtained it a year after its first launch so I was not able to obtain the slimline, but when I first got it I was overwhelemed by the amount of games and how far apart the graphics are from its predecessor. There has been more change from the playstation to the playstation 2, as compared to the playstation 2 to playstation 3. With a market of over 10,000 games and over 140 million installed bases, it could be the longest living console ever made. Yes, the numbers are down, but that’s probably because almost everyone has one in their household after nine years.It just costs $99 as compared to nextgen consoles which sell for $300. There is also minimal trouble with bugs because it has been tried and tested throughout the years, unlike nextgen consoles like the 360 which gets constantly battered with RRoDs. Until today, I still enjoy playing it even though a lot of next generation consoles have emerged simply because the number of good games in those consoles isn’t enough to satiate my need for variety. It is a strong survivor in the industry, and I must gives a thumbs up to it.

*On a personal note, I prefer the old,big version of it and not the slimline. Even when I throw a ball at it or it slips off my shelf it still works. Unlike the slimline, which is from what I hear less durable than the first version. I’m not sure, so please give me your experiences about the slimline
